Winners Announced for Fourth-Annual Innovy Awards

Winners of the fourth-annual Innovy Awards, a program made to celebrate the integration of engineering and medicine among our first-year students, were announced. The top three groups from POM 1 ENMED were selected to present their proposals, and the winners are as follows: 

First Place
ABD – Normalization of Physical Abdominal Exams
Team Members: Sarah Hakam, Aaryan Jadhav, and Mounir Khatib

Second Place
PULM – Protecting the Respiratory Tract During Emergency ET Intubation
Team Members: Sarah Hakam, Aaryan Jadhav, and Mounir Khatib

Third Place
HEENT – Remote Hearing Test System
Team Members: Anthony Eshareturi, Mohh Gupta, Kunal Jain, Zachary Mendoza

Honorable Mentions
CV – Valvular Disease in Undeserved Communities
Team Members: Christopher Chaftari, Anthony Eshareturi, Tristen Slamowitz and Ashutosh Tripathy

MSK – Mitigating the Risk of At-Home Falls
Team Members: Garrett Kuketz, Daniela Osteicoechea, Elleana Paradise, Sydney Zhou

Neuro – Preventing Tinnitus
Team Members: Cooper Lueck, Rishik Puppala, Rishi Ramesh, and Duncan Salmon

The Innovy Awards highlight the quality of work from our students over the semester and continue to motivate the excitement for future projects as we start off the new year. This ceremony builds toward the ENMED Symposium scheduled in Summer 2023, which will be open to all ENMED students and external applicants. Congratulations to each group of physicianeers for their dedication to the ENMED program.
