Students from occupational therapy, physical therapy, and nursing programs collaborated with Texas A&M’s School of Engineering Medicine (EnMed) to welcome a group of extraordinary young guests to the third annual Go Baby Go event.
Go Baby Go is a national initiative that aims to give children with cognitive and mobility challenges the freedom to explore their world independently.
Behind the scenes, the Go Baby Go team spent nearly 100 hours over six months planning and customizing every detail for each child. This involved brainstorming sessions, a hands-on “build day”, and the creation of vehicle guides, with every part of the process being handled with care. On the day of the event, EnMed physicianeers brought their plans to life by adjusting the fit of each car and adding personalized touches for comfort and ease. Each child received a hand-crafted electric vehicle tailored specifically for them!
Seeing each child’s smile as they took the wheel made all the hard work worth it, reminding everyone that the smallest acts can spark the biggest impacts.
