Dr. Robbins at BMES annual meeting
Dr. Andrew Robbins, director of admissions at EnMed, meets with prospective students at the 2021 Biomedical Engineering Society annual meeting in Orlando.

EnMed leadership and faculty recently joined biomedical engineering students, faculty and industry professionals at the 2021 Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) annual meeting in Orlando Oct. 6-9, where they shared more about the opportunities at EnMed.

“Up to one-third of all undergraduate biomedical engineering students are interested in attending medical school,” said Dr. Michael Moreno, director of innovation at the Intercollegiate School of Engineering Medicine. “EnMed’s presence at BMES is a natural fit as we seek students who are interested in building upon their interests in applying engineering concepts to medicine and health care.”

Moreno joined Drs. Andrew Robbins and John Criscione at the meeting this year and plans for EnMed to have an even larger presence at next year’s annual meeting in San Antonio, Oct. 12-15.

“Since next year’s conference will take place in our home state of Texas, we are exploring ways to have more EnMed faculty and students participate,” he said. “We hope that our annual participation at this meeting helps increase our awareness with this society and accumulates new talented applicants for our school.”
