Aditya Ramakrishna

Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University     

Aditya Ramakrishna is from Katy, Texas. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with Engineering Honors and a minor in Bioinformatics from Texas A&M University. During his undergraduate studies, Aditya served as the Major Events and Outreach Coordinator of the Biomedical Engineering Society and the co-chair of the Engineering Honors Executive Committee. He conducted neurological research throughout all four years of his undergraduate career, earning several awards for his research presentations. He also successfully completed the Undergraduate Research Scholars thesis program.

Aditya served as a summer research scholar at the University of Houston through the NIH-sponsored Cardiovascular Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) program. He has also volunteered at Christ Clinic Katy, working alongside physicians and nurses to support patient care. Additionally, he has mentored underclassmen navigating their undergraduate journeys and volunteered at several STEM events in the Bryan/College Station area.

Aditya chose the EnMed program because of its unique integration of leadership, service, and community-based learning with engineering innovation. EnMed’s mission to train physicianeers who understand both the science of healing and the design of solutions to improve healthcare access and delivery strongly aligns with his personal values and professional goals. He is particularly drawn to the program’s emphasis on translating unmet clinical needs into practical, interdisciplinary solutions that improve patient outcomes. Aditya is excited to contribute to and grow within this next era of medical innovation.

Outside of academics, Aditya is an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a passion rooted in his birthplace, and enjoys the thrill of game day and the sense of community it provides. He loves spending time with family and friends over board games such as Monopoly and Scrabble, as well as various video and card games. Aditya also enjoys reading books, with a favorite being When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi, a memoir that deepened his appreciation for the human side of medicine.
