Amelia Bergeron

Biology, University of Virginia

Amelia Bergeron is from Atlanta, Georgia, and she graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia in 2025 where she majored in Biology and minored in Biomedical Engineering. At UVA, Bergeron conducted multidisciplinary research as part of three laboratories, investigating point-of-care diagnostics for kidney disease detection, imaging fluorescent biosensors, and elucidating immunological mechanisms in liver disease. She earned the UVA Double Hoo Research Award and presented her work at three consecutive Undergraduate Research Symposia. Additionally, Bergeron served as a Meriwether Lewis Institute Leadership Fellow at UVA where she consulted for the school on how to improve meaningful student dialogue.

After completing her CMA certification in 2024, Bergeron worked as a pediatric medical assistant at Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville and Foxhall Pediatrics in Washington, D.C. Bergeron also volunteered with pediatric patients, supporting hospitalized children and their families.

Bergeron was drawn to the EnMed program for the forward-thinking, dynamic mindset that defines the program, and she is committed to improving healthcare through innovation. Bergeron has distinguished herself through rigorous research and a commitment to expanding physician impact through technology. She has an interest in surgery and women’s health, and she looks forward to engaging with clinicians in serving patients and tackling new challenges.

In her free time, Bergeron enjoys experimenting with new recipes, singing and playing instruments, and training in preparation for the Houston Marathon.
