Fayobami Taiwo

Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University    

Fayobami Taiwo is from Houston,Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. During his undergraduate studies, he dedicated his time to biomedical research, working to develop immunomodulatory hydrogels as a wound healing and therapeutic delivery platform for indole-derived compounds. He also participated in the Houston Methodist Summer Internship Program, where he investigated the expansion of human organoids to better study the microstructure of neurological disease states. Beyond research, Taiwo served as an officer for the Brown Foundation Leadership Organization and as Press and Publicity Chair for Texas A&M’s NAACP chapter, where he developed his leadership and community engagement skills.

Fayobami chose the EnMed program because he hopes to combine engineering, medicine, and innovation to develop technologies that improve patient care beyond a single clinical encounter. He is particularly interested in the intersection of medical device regulation, clinical practice, and healthcare innovation, with the goal of creating solutions that make healthcare more equitable, accessible, and trusted. He has interests in neurology, cardiology, and public health and looks forward to collaborating with the the EnMed program community while contributing to healthcare innovation in his home city.

In his free time, Fayobami enjoys photography and reading fantasy novels. He can usually be found watching camera reviews on YouTube or relaxing with the latest Brandon Sanderson novel on the sofa.
