Grayson Hinnant

Biomedical Engineering, University of North Carolina      

Grayson Hinnant is from Cary, NC, and graduated Highest Distinction with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Throughout his undergraduate career, he focused on translating classroom innovation into community impact, designing pediatric prosthetic hands through the Helping Hands Project, patenting a novel syringe for CVC insertion as a Carolina Research Scholar, and volunteering at TABLE to fight food insecurity as a Buckley Public Service Scholar. Since graduating, he has built a diverse professional background spanning healthcare and entrepreneurship. He has worked as a life sciences consultant specializing in oncology and rare disease market access, served as a biomedical engineer for an endometriosis detection startup, and launched Silly Pickles, a national pickleball company dedicated to fostering adult fitness and community.

Grayson chose the EnMed program to bridge his engineering background with clinical practice. Through EnMed’s integrated curriculum, he hopes to develop medical technologies and therapies that improve patient outcomes, particularly within his key areas of interest: pediatrics, cardiology, and oncology.

In his free time, Grayson enjoys training and competing in triathlons and marathons, trying out new workout classes, and exploring local restaurants with friends. He can usually be found walking Hermann Park, baking new scone recipes, or at the pool reading during his downtime.
