Maria Husain

Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University       

Maria Husain is from Dallas, Texas, and graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering.

During her undergraduate studies, Maria was involved in biomedical research, working with cell culture, organ-on-chip models, and the NASA Longevity Project. She also co-founded Students for Health Equity and was involved in engineering mentorship and community service. Her clinical experience as a medical assistant and scribe gave her the opportunity to see how engineering and medicine come together in patient care.

Maria chose the EnMed program because she enjoys both engineering and medicine and wants to explore how the two can be used together to improve healthcare. She hopes to learn how to identify real clinical needs and develop practical solutions that can benefit patients.

Outside of academics, Maria enjoys staying active and spending time with family and friends. She is looking forward to her next four years being part of the EnMed community.
