Nabeela Hassan

Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University      

Nabeela Hassan is from Fort Worth, Texas, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. As an undergraduate, Nabeela worked for the Department of Residence Life, serving as a Senior Resident Advisor and helping develop the Wellbeing Ambassador program during its pilot year. Nabeela was also the Vice President of Education and the Community Service Officer for the Muslim Student Association.

Nabeela investigated locational differences of myelin in the brain after subarachnoid hemorrhage as a summer research intern at Houston Methodist, and she also contributed to various research projects in Dr. Zhao’s Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering Lab at Texas A&M. In addition, Nabeela was a research and development intern at Quest Medical.

Nabeela chose the EnMed program because she aspires to transform lives at an individual level as a physician, and at a broader scale as an engineer. She strives to pair compassionate clinical care with engineering innovation to develop solutions that address unmet patient needs.

In her free time, Nabeela enjoys reading, running, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
