Rishi Prasadha

Chemical Engineering, Purdue University     

Rishi Prasadha is from Jakarta, Indonesia, and moved between continents every 3.5 years growing up. He graduated with Distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University as a member of Tau Beta Pi. As an undergraduate, he trained neural network models to identify treatable blinding retinal diseases, guided prospective students as an Admissions Tour Guide, and mentored international students as a Supervisor for BGRi, Purdue’s international student orientation program.

After graduating, Rishi worked in Houston’s startup ecosystem as Innovator in Residence at the Ion District before becoming Head of Product at Guzo, a local startup. He conducted additional AI research utilizing EHR data to gauge LLM effectiveness in predicting pancreatic cancer risk, and served as a User Experience Patient Navigator with Link Health, where he educated patients on public assistance eligibility while guiding development of an AI-powered navigation dashboard.

Rishi chose the EnMed program because it uniquely bridges his commitment to human connection with his drive to build. As a deeply caring and entrepreneurial person, he is excited to become a physician who serves underserved communities in Houston and across the globe, with a focus on health equity and public health. He is drawn to EnMed’s healthcare innovation curriculum as a foundation for developing solutions that address the systemic gaps his future patients will face, and ultimately hopes to build a career and a company at the intersection of medicine, equity, and innovation.

Outside of academics, Rishi loves challenging himself through weightlifting, swimming, and HIIT, and feeds his curiosity as an avid traveler always chasing a new country, culture, and cuisine. At home in Houston, he unwinds with his cats Archer and Milo, explores new restaurants and coffee shops, and expresses his creative side through writing, video games, and coloring.
