• Dr. Jiho Shin is an assistant professor of chemical engineering at Texas A&M University. Dr. Shin’s research interests include semiconductor materials and devices, implantable and wearable bioelectronics, and micro-LED displays.  

  • Dr. Sonia Villapol is an associate professor of neurosurgery at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute. Her research interests have been mainly focused on elucidating the mechanisms of neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, and neurogenesis via several models of brain injury, and neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease.  

  • Dr. Andrew Lee is a professor of ophthalmology, neurology, and neurosurgery at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute.  His research interests include optic nerve disorders, in particular, tumors of the optic nerve.  

  • Dr. Robert Krencik is an associate professor of neurosurgery at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute. His lab, Krencik lab, focuses on the understanding of the functional relationship of human neurons and astrocytes in normal and injured states.
