On Friday, March 20, the Texas A&M University School of Engineering Medicine (EnMed) program celebrated Match Day for its 2026 cohort. More than 65% of the students who matched will remain in Texas to continue their medical training, while others will be placed at prestigious institutions, including Stanford, Columbia, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the University of Michigan.
Internal medicine and diagnostic radiology accounted for nearly half of all matches, and over 15% matched into highly competitive surgical specialties, including vascular, thoracic, orthopaedic and plastic surgery.
Five students matched at Houston Methodist Hospital, EnMed’s clinical partner, in general and orthopaedic surgery, otolaryngology, internal medicine and anesthesiology.
One student became the first EnMed student to match at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, the nation’s top-ranked ophthalmology program.
“The results speak to the caliber of our students and the breadth of opportunities ahead of them,” said Dean Timothy Boone. “They are stepping into programs across the country prepared to lead and make a meaningful impact in the future of medicine.”
