Christopher Chaftari

Christopher Chaftari, a Houston, TX native, earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. During his undergraduate studies, he served as a peer mentor and conducted research on developing organ-on-a-chip models to study angiogenesis. He also played a key role in the BUILD program, where he took on the responsibility of Operations Team Leader.
Following his graduation, Christopher took a gap year to work as a researcher at the FDA through the ORISE program, where he explored the effects of inflammation on chondrogenesis. This experience deepened his passion for merging engineering with medicine, motivating him to pursue innovative opportunities at the intersection of these fields.
Christopher chose the EnMed program for its distinctive blend of engineering and medical education, which aligns with his career aspirations. He believes that the future of healthcare will be driven by the integration of technology and medicine, and EnMed’s emphasis on innovation resonates with his goals. Christopher is eager to use his engineering background to tackle real-world medical challenges, aspiring to become a physician-engineer who not only provides patient care but also pioneers advancements in medical technology. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
