Katherine Genty

Biomedical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology

Kate Genty grew up in Tokyo, Japan and graduated summa cum laude from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and minors in Industrial Design and Health and Medical Sciences. During undergrad, she served as a TA for a biomedical engineering design course, worked as a medical scribe in an emergency room and collaborated on various engineering design projects, most notably a system to improve administration of glucagon during hypoglycemic emergencies. After graduation, Genty conducted research on Parkinson’s disease in the neurosurgery department at Duke Hospital, where she developed novel technology to improve treatment.

At EnMed, Genty hopes to further develop her skills to creatively solve medical problems. She hopes to combine her interest in holistic medicine with western medicine to deliver the best and most sustainable patient outcomes. She holds officer positions in the Health Innovations and Breaking Barriers clubs.

Genty spends much of her free time traveling to explore new places and visit her friends and family. She also enjoys weightlifting, yoga, hiking with her dog Scooby, baking, and exploring Houston!
