Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University

Bailee CoVan grew up in Crosby, Texas, a town northeast of Houston. After graduating from Crosby High School, she pursued a biomedical engineering degree at Texas A&M University, supported by the Craig and Galen Brown Foundation. During her time as an undergraduate student, Bailee developed an interest in biomechanics and sought out research opportunities in the Biomechanical Environments Laboratory at Texas A&M and the Musculoskeletal Translational Innovation Initiative in Boston, Massachusetts.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Bailee was actively involved in Engineers Serving the Community for three years, where she held roles as the Student Engineers’ Council Representative and Vice President of Projects. As a Student Engineers’ Council member, she contributed to the philanthropy committee and volunteered at the Engineering Career Fairs.

While Bailee thoroughly enjoyed her biomechanics-related electives and extracurricular projects, she recognized that her lifelong goal was to practice full-time as a clinician. The EnMed program provides an ideal opportunity for her to continue fostering her engineering interests while also offering rigorous preparation for a career in medicine in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. She appreciates EnMed’s small cohort size and collaborative environment, which she finds conducive to developing effective and innovative medical professionals with strong communication skills.

Outside of class, Bailee enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends in College Station and Crosby.
