Punit Desai

Originally from Houston, TX, Punit Desai earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin. From a young age, Desai faced a dilemma between medicine and engineering. However, his belief in the compassion of healthcare and the innovative potential of engineering fueled his determination to merge both passions into a unified career path.

Desai chose EnMed for the opportunity to enhance the standard of care and efficiency in clinical settings through innovation. His previous research experiences in brain-computer interfaces sparked his interest in integrating AI into medicine and developing surgical robotics. Currently, his interests include ophthalmology, reconstructive surgery, and neurosurgery.

Outside of academics, Desai enjoys watching movies, staying fit through sports such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, pickleball, and weightlifting, and values spending quality time with friends and family.
