Masters of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University
Alexander Bogdan is from Irving, Texas, and earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. During his undergraduate and graduate studies, he focused on projects involving design validation for brain-machine interface devices and minimally invasive pediatric technologies.
After graduation, he worked as a Remediation Engineer at Cook Medical, an Emergency Medicine Scribe, and a hospice volunteer. At Cook Medical he specialized in validation and played a key role in overhauling the Quality Management System (QMS), particularly in the appraisal of nonconformances (NC), complaints, and CAPA data. He later served as a resource for assessing documentation scope, process impact, man-hour requirements, and harmonization strategies. His clinical experience as a scribe gave him the unique opportunity to see Cook Medical products he had helped remediate for EU MDR being used in real-time.
Alex chose EnMed to combine his passion for engineering and medicine, to apply manufacturing-based design principles to develop high-quality, disruptive medical devices. He is particularly interested in leveraging engineering to advance the field of surgery and is committed to driving innovation that improves patient outcomes. He also looks forward to engaging in volunteer work and research within both the EnMed community and the broader Houston area.
In his free time, Alex enjoys exploring new cuisines, hiking through nature, and spending time at the gym. Around campus, he’s often spotted with some unique novelty item in hand, ready to share a story or spark a conversation.
