Chris Oake
Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University
Chris Oake is from Allen, Texas, and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a minor in genetics. During his undergraduate years, he conducted research at the Texas A&M College of Medicine and co-authored multiple publications in Aging Cell and Alzheimer’s & Dementia focused on the therapeutic modulation of neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease. He also held leadership roles in the Theta Tau fraternity and served as a Biomedical Engineering Ambassador.
After graduation, Chris worked as the Therapy Development Lead at Noctrix Health, a neurostimulation startup based in Pleasanton, California. In this role, he bridged clinical, engineering, and sales teams to support the development and implementation of Nidra, a wearable for patients with restless leg syndrome. He directly onboarded the company’s first 1,000 patients and led training efforts at hospitals and clinics across the country. Before Noctrix, he gained clinical experience as a medical scribe in outpatient clinics across New York and Delaware.
Chris chose EnMed to build on his background in both engineering and medicine to design practical medical devices for patients suffering from complex neurological conditions. He was drawn to the program’s unique blend of innovation and clinical training, which fits his vision of becoming a physician who also creates solutions to improve care.
Outside of academics, Chris enjoys rock climbing, guitar, piano, and disc golf.
