Fouzul Kansul is from Frisco, Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. As an undergraduate, Fouzul served as president of the University Blood Initiative and as treasurer and partnerships director of Sling Health, a student-run medical technology incubator. She also completed the National Science Foundation I-Corps Site program, took part in various pitch competitions, and was recognized as a Meloy Innovator.

Fouzul conducted research under Dr. Trisha Roy at Houston Methodist Hospital, where she studied sex-based differences in peripheral arterial disease with the goal of improving treatment decisions and outcomes for PAD patients. She was also a member of the PATHS-UP Optical Biosensing Laboratory at Texas A&M. Additionally, Fouzul interned at Medtronic with the Global Technology and Innovation Sustainability Team, where she evaluated bio-based polymers and optimized method development for implantable potassium sensors.

Fouzul chose to attend EnMed because of her passion for medical innovation, especially in improving healthcare accessibility for underserved communities. She looks forward to leveraging her engineering skillset to identify and address real-world clinical challenges through a multifaceted perspective. Fouzul is excited to continue innovating at the intersection of engineering, medicine, and entrepreneurship and help shape the future of healthcare.

In her free time, Fouzul enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and photography. She can usually be found planning adventures with family and friends or spending time with her lovely pet cat, Nila.
