Biomedical Engineering, California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo

Jake Hacker is from San Diego, California, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. While at Cal Poly, he contributed to research on orthopedic implant innovation in both laboratory and clinical settings.

He served as president of the Doctors Without Borders Club and volunteered with a local nonprofit as a psychology researcher focused on addiction medicine. Jake also gained hands-on industry experience at UFP MedTech and designed a testing system for aortic heart valve conduits during his time at Edwards Lifesciences.

Jake chose EnMed for its unique integration of engineering, medicine, and entrepreneurship. He aims to leverage this multidisciplinary training to drive innovation in patient care and contribute to the future of medical technology as both a physician and problem-solver.

In his free time, Jake enjoys basketball, volleyball, skiing, weightlifting, and any activity that gets him outdoors. His other hobbies include playing music and cooking.
