Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University

Likhitha Veerapalli is from Southlake, Texas and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University with Engineering Honors. During her undergraduate studies, Likhitha was a President’s Endowed Scholarship recipient and Meloy Fellow, a program that recognizes engineering students who demonstrate innovation and entrepreneurial drive. As a member of the Biomechanical Environments Laboratory, Likhitha helped develop models predicting hip joint center locations and limb inertial properties. She also developed mechanical testing protocols to evaluate novel orthopedic screw designs.

In addition to academics, she was actively involved in the Student Engineers’ Council, where she organized the Engineering Career Fair, helped engineering students navigate their freshman year, and volunteered at STEM events in the Bryan/College Station community. Likhitha has spent her summers interning at Procter & Gamble, where she developed a new software tool for formulation scientists, and at Argon Medical Devices, where she refined the design and manufacturing process for a leaking neonatal PICC line.

Likhitha is excited about the EnMed program because of its seamless blend of engineering and medical training. She aims to use this integrated approach to design practical medical solutions that address both individual patient care and broader healthcare system challenges. The program offers a rare chance to pursue her passion for innovation while receiving a strong medical education in the Texas Medical Center. She values EnMed’s tight-knit, collaborative community, which she believes will support both personal growth and the development of strong interdisciplinary communication skills essential to modern healthcare.

In her free time, Likhitha is an avid tennis and pickleball player, marathon runner, and traveler. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and exploring Houston’s food scene.
