Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University

MaryGrace Wahby grew up in Dallas, Texas, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude with University Honors and Engineering Honors distinctions in May 2025.

During her undergraduate career, Wahby honed her rapid prototyping skills by competing in three major design competitions, finishing on the podium in all three and winning first place in one. She also explored her passion for research with Grunlan Research Group, specializing in self-fitting polymer bone scaffolding for CMF defects. During her time in the lab she co-authored four publications and won first place in the 2023 Biomedical Engineering Honor Society Research Symposium.

Outside the classroom, Wahby served in leadership roles within the Student Engineers’ Council, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Alpha Eta Mu Beta Honor Society (AEMB), spending one term as AEMB President. In her free time she dedicated herself to mentoring younger women in her sorority, volunteering at her church, and teaching safety classes at the Bryan Juvenile Justice Center.

Wahby chose the EnMed program for its distinctive combination of engineering rigor and clinical immersion, which aligns with her goal of translating bench-side innovations into surgical solutions. She is eager to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams at Houston Methodist and leverage Texas A&M’s engineering strengths to develop next-generation surgical tools which she hopes to employ in her own future practice.

Outside of academics, Wahby enjoys going to the gym, running, cooking, reading and spending time with family.
