Nathaniel Fernandes was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and is proud to be a first-generation Aggie! Before joining EnMed, he was awarded the prestigious Brockman Scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a Master of Science in Business from Texas A&M University. A natural problem solver, Nathaniel has been involved in bioinformatics research since his freshman year and has co-authored five peer-reviewed publications. His passion for innovation and creative, out-of-the-box style has helped him succeed in several entrepreneurship competitions and excel in internships at Dialexa and Apple, where he developed automated data analysis pipelines to improve manual workflows.

Nathaniel’s career interests lie in fusing technology, medicine, and human effort to help people become the best version of themselves and reach their peak potential. He chose the EnMed program because of its first-of-its-kind focus on blending medicine, engineering, and entrepreneurship—a perfect combo!

Outside of academics, Nathaniel is a competitive chess player, an avid reader, and a dedicated foodie. He enjoys exploring local restaurants with friends, hosting cookouts, organizing board game nights, and even throwing the occasional apple tasting party!
