Biomedical Engineering, University of California-Los Angeles

Neha Kulkarni is from Los Angeles, California, but spent many of her formative years in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. She graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with a degree in Bioengineering.

During her time at UCLA, she served as president of the Engineering Society at UCLA and also worked as a lead resident assistant for multiple years. Neha pursued her academic interests through biomechanics research at the JVL Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children and gait analysis research at the Institute for Biomedical Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. For her academic achievements, Neha was awarded the Terence Lim Engineering Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship. For her involvement in student life, Neha was the recipient of the Engineering Achievement Award in Student Welfare.

Neha’s commitment to improving mobility and reducing the time spent by patients and caregivers in healthcare facilities is core to her professional vision. She recognizes how vital mobility and time are to a person’s ability to fully engage with their community. EnMed offers her the opportunity to address mobility-related challenges through a combination of her engineering background and medical knowledge, while simultaneously broadening her understanding of healthcare and the gaps in the bench-to-bedside process.

In her free time, Neha seizes every opportunity to be outdoors: she enjoys running, swimming, and hiking, with her favorite hike (so far) being the Narrows in Zion National Park. She is an avid reader and a fruit enthusiast. Neha dedicates much of her free time to doing her favorite activities with friends, family, or her golden doodle, Bruno.
