Biomedical Engineering, The University of Texas at San Antonio

Caleb Haeussler was born in Seguin, Texas, where his father worked as a machinist and his mother was a school teacher. Haeussler obtained a Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he graduated with High Honors in biomaterials, cellular, and tissue engineering.

Prior to medical school, Haeussler gained valuable experience as an R&D intern at InCube Labs where he worked on a variety of medical device projects. He then transitioned to a role as a computer hardware engineer at AMD, working on development of cutting-edge processors and graphics cards.

As a medical student, Haeussler has been an active member of the student leadership team and has been involved in the school’s curriculum committees. Haeussler’s research focuses have been involved in improving educational modalities, developing surgical devices, and leveraging automation and software to improve physician efficiency.

During his free time, Haeussler enjoys car restoration, photography, and spending quality time with his fiancée.

Haeussler is eager to pursue a career in Family Medicine and is dedicated to developing a broad skill-set to provide comprehensive care to underserved communities. Additionally, he hopes to develop innovations that help him make a positive impact on patients’ lives.
