Bioengineering, Rice University
Sanjana Ranganathan is passionate about using engineering and medicine to promote healthcare accessibility both domestically and globally. Her experience includes designing, prototyping, and implementing low-cost, innovative solutions in Houston and Costa Rica. Through her collaborations with physicians and engineers, she has developed an enthusiasm for globally-focused device development, working with underserved populations, and developing novel solutions to clinical problems.
Prior to matriculating, Ranganathan worked for General Electric Healthcare as a Clinical Consultant in Interventional Radiology. She has also led bioengineering research projects and interned with Boston Scientific. She is excited about leveraging the EnMed curriculum to influence the field through both clinical practice and device design.
Ranganathan was born and raised in Houston, TX. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and a Master of Bioengineering in Global Medical Innovation from Rice University. Ranganathan is passionate about promoting mental health and wellness and bringing awareness to these topics. In her free time, she enjoys working out, singing, traveling, playing sports, and spending time with her family and friends.
