Mechanical Engineering, University of Texas
Robby Loving joins EnMed with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a certificate in Business and Pre-Health from The University of Texas in Austin, Texas.
During his time at UT, Loving helped create robotic devices with a focus on advanced prosthetics and exoskeletons that aided in rehabilitation. He also created a 3D-printed head impact test ring that allowed him to test out different protective headgear for professional athletes and spent three months in Shenzhen, China creating prototypes of consumer electronic devices for NOA Labs.
Loving’s current research interests include trauma reconstruction and tissue transplantation, and he plans to become a plastic or orthopedic surgeon after medical school. Loving said that he chose the EnMed program because he wanted to learn the practical hurdles to creating medical devices so that when he sees opportunities to improve patient outcomes, he’s able to innovate and create solutions that benefit even more patients than he could ever personally treat.
Originally from Cypress, Texas, Loving’s interests outside of medicine include woodworking, fishing, the New Orleans Saints, hiking, traveling and trying out new foods.
