Chemical Engineering, University of Notre Dame
Claire Sweeney is from Columbus, Ohio and received her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame where she was involved in the Society of Women Engineers and volunteering in the intensive care unit at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She has extensive experience as a bench-top researcher both at the Harper Cancer Research Institute and at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
“I chose EnMed because I was interested in the intersection of engineering and medicine, a passion first realized in my biotransport and process control courses. This program has afforded me the opportunity to use my undergraduate training to identify gaps in medicine and has given me the framework to know how to address them. ”
In her free time Claire enjoys painting and arts-and-crafts. She enjoys running as a form of stress relief, most recently running the Houston Half Marathon with some of her classmates.
