Electrical and Computer Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University
James Zhang was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s of science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
While at CMU, he worked as a teaching assistant for CMU’s embedded systems course and pursued research in low-power embedded systems, parallel computing, and computer architecture. After graduation, he worked as a researcher in CMU’s Wireless Sensing and Embedded Systems Lab, where he helped develop firmware for cloud computing on low-power, low-cost embedded devices.
“I chose EnMed because it offered the unique opportunity to seamlessly combine my passions for both engineering and medicine,” he said. “I hope to learn from my peers and the world class physicians in the Texas Medical Center to bring innovative solutions to unaddressed healthcare needs.“
In his free time, he likes to spend his time bouldering, woodworking, building Legos, and playing video games.
