Matthew Coker grew up in Caddo Mills, TX, and graduated with honors from the University of Texas with a bachelor of science in Biomedical Engineering and minor in Business Administration. During his undergraduate career, Coker enjoyed working as a research assistant in a fiber optics lab, focusing most of his research on laser ablation applications in urology.
Following graduation, he worked as an engineer specializing in transporting sensitive biopharmaceuticals. He then moved into education where he taught 6th grade math in Quinlan, TX and had the pleasure of watching the growth of his students.
He believes that his unique career path has exposed him to highly technical fields and highly personal fields. He chose EnMed because it allowed a unique blending of his passions for healthcare and technology and affords him the pleasure of providing high quality healthcare while generating real world solutions to clinical problems.
Coker is avid weightlifter and a former competitive powerlifter. He values the company of friends and family. Outside of class and the gym, you can find him spending time with family and friends.
