EnMed educates invention-and innovation-minded, problem-solving physician engineers, or “physicianeers” – who will be uniquely qualified to make significant contributions to the transformation of health care through the design and development of innovative medical technologies that address some of health care’s greatest challenges.
In addition to the clinical training provided through the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital, EnMed students gain experience contributing to all parts of the innovation process of translating novel medical technologies into real-world applications in the nation’s first fully integrated engineering and medical education curriculum accredited by the LCME. Graduates of EnMed receive both a doctorate of medicine and master’s in engineering in four years.
EnMed’s medical education program is a track within the Texas A&M University College of Medicine MD program. If you have already applied to the Texas A&M College of Medicine and are interested in being considered for EnMed, please contact us. You can apply to EnMed through TMDSAS as well as through AMCAS.
