EnMed Developing Collaboration with Rwanda’s Regional Centre for Excellence in Biomedical Engineering and eHealth

October 14, 2019 By EnMed

Twizere and PettigrewDr. Roderic Pettigrew recently met with Dr. Celestin Twizere, director of the Regional Centre for Excellence in Biomedical Engineering and eHealth, (CEBE) to discuss expanding the developing collaboration with EnMed. EnMed director of innovation, Dr. Michael Moreno has been working with Rwanda for several years through Engineering World Health and has developed several initiatives in collaboration with Twizere that could involve EnMed students. Most recently, EnMed student engagement involved working with the CEBE to implement a Telemedicine program in Rwanda. The CEBE actually serves the entire East African Community which includes Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, and South Sudan. Thus, improving health care delivery capabilities through the CEBE has a very broad reach across the continent of Africa.
