Houston professionals of the National Society of Black Engineers honors Dr. Pettigrew

Dr. Pettigrew was the honoree and speaker at the of National Society of Black Engineers Houston Professionals’ 2022 Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet on August 5.

The Society recognized Pettigrew for his contributions and leadership in advancing science and engineering while encouraging the next generation of scientists in pursuing professional occupations in the engineering and medical fields. The highlight of his inspirational acceptance message was a visionary forecast for future pathways for professionals to converge engineering with medicine to become the innovators the industry needs for extraordinary advancements.

“It is always an amazing honor to be recognized by my peers for work I have undertaken in engineering and medicine – my two passions,” said Pettigrew.

“It was satisfying to be acknowledged at home, here in Houston, before young women and men who will one day earn degrees and advance the future world in both engineering and medicine.”
