Applicants to the EnMed program must:
- Have a bachelor’s, or advanced, degree in engineering or computer science from a U.S. or territorial institution,
- Be a U.S. citizen or hold a U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card) status, and
- Have completed all prerequisite coursework to qualify for EnMed admission.
Consideration for Applicants
without an ABET-accredited degreeInterested applicants who do not hold a baccalaureate, or advanced, degree in engineering or computer science from an ABET-accredited (or standards-meeting) program may be considered upon completion of prescribed math and engineering leveling courses. These criteria may be fulfilled by a combination of undergraduate and graduate leveling coursework:

- All prescribed coursework must be completed before being accepted into the program.
- All leveling courses should be completed with letter grades of “B” or better.
Please Note
Courses in advanced calculus (differential equations or higher), thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, electricity and magnetism, dynamics and vibrations, circuit system design, signal processing, engineering mechanics, engineering analysis, materials and manufacturing, structure of materials, mechanical measurements, engineering design (mechanical, electrical, chemical design etc.), experimental physics, Newtonian mechanics, computer systems and design, digital circuit design, or other upper/graduate-level coursework completed as part of an ABET-accredited engineering degree and which does not fulfill requirements for admission to medical school.
Policy on AP Credits, Credits by Exam, and Dual Credit
APPLICATION PROCESS
Only completed applications are reviewed. The following are the requirements for a complete EnMed application:
If you are a Texas resident:
Submit the Texas Medical & Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS) application.
Fees:
- $200
If you are not a Texas resident:
Submit the TMDSAS application or the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) application.
Fees:
- $170 for one medical school designation
- $42 for each additional medical school designation
Official Documentation:
- Send official transcripts directly to TMDSAS or AMCAS. If applicable, submit a copy of your U.S. Permanent Resident card or other pertinent documents directly to TMDSAS or AMCAS.
MCAT Requirement:
- Submit an official MCAT score released to TMDSAS or AMCAS.
- Conditions:
- No pending scores a the time of application
- Scores must be from within the past five years

Submit your Application to Texas A&M College of Medicine
- Complete and submit the Texas A&M College of Medicine Secondary Application with a $60 fee. Indicate interest in EnMed by selecting the EnMed Track option (Item #7).
- Applicants must select both the MD and EnMed options for consideration to both tracks.
Submit Letters of Evaluation
Provide three letters of evaluation or a Health Professions Advisory Committee Packet (HPAC) from your college or university. *Each individual institution may choose to do HPACs. Contact your school’s advising office for more information.

- The review of completed applications begins

- October 15 – Pre-match rolling acceptances begins

- November 1 – Deadline for EnMed applicants to submit TMDSAS or AMCAS applications and Texas A&M College of Medicine Secondary and Supplemental Applications, 5 p.m. CST
- Mid-November – TMDSAS deadline for receipt of letters of evaluations
- Transcripts must be submitted within 30 days of request by TMDSAS
- Financial Aid process begins via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

- April 30 (or before) – TMDSAS traffic rule: On or before April 30, accepted applicants must narrow acceptances to no more than one (1) school or program, and withdraw acceptances from all other schools or programs
- April 30 – AMCAS ‘Commit to Enroll’ option available. Accepted EnMed candidates must select ‘Commit to Enroll’ to retain their admission.
May
- May 5 – Deadline for AMCAS applicants to select ‘Commit to Enroll’ to retain their EnMed admission.
- May 15 – Last day to make offers of acceptance to alternates holding acceptances at other Texas medical schools
- Late May – EnMed courses begin the day after Memorial Day.
