Biomedical Engineering, The George Washington University

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Brianna Cathey received her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from The George Washington University. Cathey joined the EnMed program for the opportunity to impact her future patients beyond her own practice by contributing to an innovation that is implementable by other health care professionals.

While studying in Washington D.C., Cathey volunteered at a free HIV clinic and participated in cardiac electrophysiology research. She has an interest in cardiology for her medical specialty and also plans to pursue a medical device start-up. When she’s not busy with her studies, Cathey enjoys weight lifting, bike riding, and visiting art museums and galleries.
