Biological Engineering, Utah State University

Nathan Harward calls Riverton, Utah, USA home and received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from Utah State University. During his undergraduate career, he developed personally and professionally by being a medical assistant, member of the Best Buddies organization, engaging in tissue engineering research, a teaching assistant, and a founding member of the USU Aggie Red Cross Club. He also spent two years dedicated to a humanitarian service experience with the Hispanic population in southern California where he learned to speak Spanish fluently and grow his love for diverse cultures.

Following the completion of his engineering degree, Harward gained invaluable experience working directly with surgical oncologists at Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, where his passion for surgery and surgical innovation was strengthened. His academic interests focus on improving surgical outcomes and patient experience through technological innovation. This passion for innovation led him to the EnMed program, where he can gain invaluable education and hands-on experience in translating technological advancements from the academic world to patient-facing settings to improve healthcare for all.

Harward takes pride in his multifaceted nature and particularly enjoys mountain biking, playing guitar, and spending time with loved ones. He feels most alive when learning from and connecting with individuals of diverse backgrounds. He strives to provide compassionate care to patients by leveraging the personal experiences that shaped his path to the field of medicine.
