Biomedical Engineering, University of California – Irvine
Peter Jang grew up in Garden Grove, California, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Micro and Nano Biomedical Engineering. During his undergraduate studies, he gained diverse research experience, working on projects such as ultrafine aerosol research, a COVID-19 temperature sensor, and a dental apparatus aimed at improving respiratory health. He also served as vice president of Alpha Eta Mu Beta (AEMB), the honors biomedical engineering society at UCI, where he helped foster an academic community for fellow biomedical engineers.
After graduating, Peter worked as a medical scribe at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County to gain hands-on clinical experience. His passion for merging biomedical engineering with patient care led him to pursue a career in medicine. He chose to join EnMed, believing that in order to stay at the forefront of medicine’s technological advancements, a multidisciplinary background in both engineering and medicine would best equip him to serve his future patients. Peter is particularly interested in pediatric endocrinology and developing innovative diabetes technologies.
In his free time, Peter enjoys rock climbing, going to the gym, playing video games, and listening to music. A competitive Super Smash Bros. player, he regularly attends tournaments to sharpen his skills.
