The Southwest–Midwest National Pediatric Device Innovation Consortium (SWPDC) marked another milestone with its grand Annual Business Meeting and Evening of Pediatric Device Innovation at the Texas A&M EnMed Tower. The event was a pivotal gathering, drawing together esteemed members, colleagues, and guests who shared a vision of advancing pediatric healthcare through innovative devices.
The program unfolded, kicking off with a warm welcome extended by the leadership of Texas A&M Engineering and Texas A&M EnMed. Dr. Gwen Fischer, MD, FAAP, from the University of Minnesota / Masonic Children’s Hospital, shared insights in the presentation “PDIC, Minnesota’s Medical Alley, and SWPDC – Partnerships to Move Pediatric Device Innovation Forward.”
Following the keynote, a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Chester Koh, MD, MBA, Executive Director of SWPDC, and TCH / BCM, engaged the audience in a dynamic exchange. Panelists included luminaries such as Dr. Gwen Fischer, Dr. Balakrishna Haridas from TAMU, Dr. Richard Willson from the University of Houston, Dr. Matthew Wettergreen from Rice University, and Christine Luk from Proxima. Their diverse expertise and perspectives vividly showed SWPDC’s ambitious roadmap for the next five years.
Toward the end, the atmosphere transformed into a networking reception in the lobby of the Texas A&M EnMed Tower. On the 1st floor, attendees continued innovative discussions, forged new connections, and strengthened existing collaborations, promoting unity in pursuing pediatric healthcare advancement.
The SWPDC’s Evening of Pediatric Device Innovation and Annual Business Meeting was concluded on a high note, inspiring attendees to continue the mission of pioneering pediatric device solutions that transform young lives.
