Biography
Jag Grooms, Chief of Staff at the School of Engineering Medicine, was among the pioneering staff members of the EnMed program. Grooms played critical roles in the early development of EnMed, including developing the staff organizational structure and overseeing the renovation of EnMed Tower in the Texas Medical Center, including classrooms, research and office spaces, clinical simulation lab spaces, a makerspace, and an MRI suite.
Prior to becoming Chief of Staff, Grooms had a distinguished career that spans various facets of healthcare, from home healthcare to top-ranked hospital systems. His educational background comes from Louisiana State University, where he earned a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in healthcare management and a Bachelor of Science in information systems and decision sciences.
His visionary leadership has supported student enrollment growth and efficient business operations, highlighting his commitment to advancing healthcare through education and innovation.
