Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University
Raaghav Bageshwar was born in New Delhi, India, but grew up in College Station, Texas, where he developed a deep connection to Texas A&M University. Raised an Aggie, he bleeds maroon and chose to pursue his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University.
During his undergraduate years, Raaghav’s passion for blending engineering and medicine blossomed. He completed a research internship in India, working in a chemical engineering lab to develop a targeted drug delivery system using microbubbles and ultrasonic frequency. This experience solidified his interest in combining innovative engineering solutions with medical applications.
Raaghav’s commitment to helping others extended beyond the lab. For four years, he volunteered on the Texas A&M Counseling & Psychological Services HelpLine, providing support to fellow students during times of crisis. This experience not only honed his communication skills but also cemented his desire to pursue a career in medicine.
The EnMed program at Texas A&M University was a natural fit for Raaghav, perfectly aligning with his vision of integrating engineering innovation into medical practice. Drawn to the program’s unique approach of fostering physician-engineers who can develop transformative solutions to healthcare challenges, Raaghav plans to pursue internal medicine with a particular interest in cardiology. With an insatiable appetite for knowledge and a drive to learn something new each day, he is excited by the field’s boundless potential for innovation and its impact on patient care.
Raaghav grounds himself through diverse hobbies, from competitive kite flying to bachata dancing. His apartment is filled with tropical houseplants, creating a lush oasis where all that’s missing is a toucan perched on the coat rack. Whether he’s cooking for friends or embarking on outdoor adventures, Raaghav’s eclectic interests reflect his zest for life and continuous learning.
