Biomedical Engineering, University of Florida
Carter Lurk is from Destin, FL and graduated with a bachelor of science in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Florida. Lurk’s passion for community service led him to volunteer with the Equal Access Clinic Network, Dream Team, and as a Chemistry Teaching Assistant. He also served as Vice-President of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
During his gap years, Lurk contributed to research on Acute Intermittent Hypoxia’s impact on Spinal Cord Injury, Circadian Rhythm, and Neuroplasticity. He later transitioned to Remediation Engineering at Cook Medical, gaining insights into medical device approvals.
Balancing his pursuits, Lurk enjoys weight-training, Jiu-Jitsu, running, golfing, fishing, traveling, and relaxing on the beach. With a deep sense of purpose, Lurk aspires to become a compassionate and skilled physician, combining academic excellence, community service, and a passion for patient care to positively impact lives.
