Industrial and Operations Engineering, University of Michigan
Harini Pennathur is from Northville, MI and graduated from the University of Michigan in 2021 with a bachelor of science in Industrial and Operations Engineering.
During her undergraduate studies, Pennathur was involved with several research projects. Most prominently, she worked on improving equitability in prenatal care and accessibility to Michigan Medicine’s cardiac ICU. She was also heavily involved on a design team, engineering portable gynecological exam tables to increase cervical cancer screening rates in rural Nicaragua.
Pennathur also worked as a manufacturing engineer for GE Healthcare. As an intern during the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked in the ventilator production plant where she assisted the surge in demand of ventilators seen worldwide. After graduation, Pennathur returned to GE to work on manufacturing CT systems as part of their Operations Management Leadership Program.
In her free time, Pennathur enjoys exercising, hiking, working on puzzles, making cheeseboards, photography, and cheering on Michigan sports.
