Biomedical Engineering, Ohio State University
Joe Fedro grew up in Cleveland, OH, and graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with Honors Distinction. During his undergraduate studies, Fedro worked as a biomedical engineer at VisionAir Solutions and as a research assistant in Dr. Matthew Kalady’s laboratory. He also held leadership positions in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and devoted time to volunteering at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
For his senior design project, Fedro co-invented a patent-pending device designed to improve the accuracy of radiation therapy for breast cancer patients. After graduating, Fedro continued his work as a research assistant, focusing on colorectal cancer formation and the molecular factors that cause variations in treatment responses. His project earned him a podium presentation and the “Research Forum Works in Progress” Award at the 2023 American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons conference.
At EnMed, Fedro plans to combine his interests in engineering, medicine, and entrepreneurship to improve patient care by solving clinical needs. Outside of his professional pursuits, Fedro enjoys weight training, video editing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
