Biomedical Engineering, University of Texas at Austin
Natasha Nehra is from Katy, TX. She went to the University of Texas at Austin and majored in Biomedical Engineering with a certificate in Scientific Computation and Data Sciences. During her undergraduate studies she was a program organizer for SEEK (Student Engineers Educating Kids) where she mentored children at-risk of dropping out from school. She was also the President of E-Nable, where she helped create 3-D printed prosthetics for children in need. She worked as a research assistant under Dr. Parekh to improve image segmentation in hyper-spectral data through machine learning models.
During college, she interned at Medtronic under the Cardiac Rhythm and Diabetes departments where she worked on improving machine learning models used to predict cardiac ventricular tachycardia and a patient’s sensor glucose. After college, she worked as an AI and Data Science Engineer I at Medtronic Diabetes in Northridge, CA where improved patient specific insights on their diabetic health markers and created statistical algorithms to improve titration models.
Natasha chose EnMed because of the innovative curriculum and unique opportunity to integrate engineering and medicine to significantly improve patient lives. She hopes to use the skills she learns here to improve machine learning’s implementation in various fields of medicine including radiology, cardiology, and neurology.
In Natasha’s free time she enjoys painting, hiking, and traveling.
