Caitlin Sannes is from Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated with a biomedical engineering degree from Texas A&M University. While at A&M, Caitlin served as the chair of the Engineering Honors Executive Committee and was a co-founder of the A&M branch of Partners in Health Engage, a healthcare policy advocacy organization. She is also a winner of the Craig Brown Outstanding Senior Engineer Award.
Throughout her undergraduate career, Caitlin was a member of the Translational and Innovative Nanomedicine (TRAIN) Lab where she studied the effects of oxygenation on the tumor microenvironment with the goal of improving outcomes for patients with metastatic bone disease. She also worked in the Immunobiology and Transplant Science Center under Dr. Wenhao Chen where she studied potential treatments for autoimmune diseases.
Caitlin chose to attend EnMed because of her passion for innovative research and her desire to translate new technologies into clinical practice. She is excited to use her engineering knowledge to tackle challenges within medicine.
Outside of EnMed, Caitlin is an avid tennis and pickleball player. She also enjoys playing piano, crafting, and baking to destress.
