Chemical Engineering and Biology, Cornell University
Alexandra Farhangui is originally from Fremont, California. She graduated in 2021 from Cornell University with a dual bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and biology, with a concentration in biochemistry. During this time, Farhangui also conducted genetics research in the Hua Lab, played in the Big Red Pep Band, and held leadership positions in the Pi Beta Phi fraternity for women.
She chose EnMed to continue this dual education and contribute to cutting-edge innovation. Over the last four years, her research and achievements reflect that goal. She currently has two devices undergoing IP review, with a third to be submitted in the fall of 2024. Additionally, her publications include research on AI image-based dermatologic diagnostic algorithms, edutainment for kidney transplants, and suture tensile strength in sacrocolpopexy. She is also involved in research to improve AUS success rates, investigations into prostatic stents, and facilitating clinical trials for OAB in MS.
At EnMed, Alexandra is a member of her medical school executive council as Class Treasurer, elected in 2021, and serves as president of the Texas A&M Urology Interest Group.
In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer and volleyball, listening to audiobooks, event planning, and embroidery.
