Theresa Thurston is from Salem, Oregon, and has a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Oregon State University. During her undergraduate career, Thurston was extensively involved in student government, ASOSU, participating as a member of and ultimately as chair of the Student Fees Committee. She worked for a chemistry lab to develop an iPhone app for colorimetry regression. Following this development, Thurston took a gap year to work in pediatrics and family medicine as a medical scribe.
Thurston chose the EnMed program because of its appreciation for out-of-the-box thinking and unique perspectives. She is excited to be part of a program that encourages and empowers students to deconstruct current practices to be built into something better.
Hobbies and other interests of Thurston include board games, gardening, working out, and reliving the peak of gaming through local Halo co-op campaigns on the Xbox.
