Biomedical Engineering, University of Texas
Originally from Houston, TX, Peter Chaftari completed his bachelor of science in Biomedical Engineering with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2023. Throughout his undergraduate journey, he found joy in sharing knowledge with his peers, taking on roles as a learning assistant, tutor, and peer mentor for the biomedical engineering department. Additionally, Chaftari actively participated in Longhorn EMS, where he led workshops to educate others on basic first-aid techniques.
Before his graduation, Chaftari engaged in research at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he gathered data to investigate the effects of radiation on the carotid arteries. Furthermore, he served as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Aaron Baker’s Lab within the biomedical engineering department at the University of Texas enhancing the development of drug-eluting chest-tubes.
During his leisure time, Chaftari devotes himself to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. His hobbies include going to the gym, playing golf and soccer, watching TV shows, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
