Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University

Raiyan Talukder was raised in Tyler, Texas and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. During his undergraduate tenure, Talukder channeled his passion for teaching and data science by joining organizations and participating in research.

Talukder served as President for TidalTamu, a data science and machine learning organization. There, he taught coding to high school students across Texas. He also facilitated numerous workshops with the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science for students and interested people to learn statistics and machine learning methods.

In addition to teaching data science, Talukder spent his time as an undergraduate student conducting research in Dr. Samba Reddy’s Neurosteroid and Experimental Therapeutics lab, wherein he explored the electroencephalographic biomarkers to better understand epilepsy. Furthermore, he worked with a team to better understand the complexities of pediatric epilepsy and the efficacy of certain therapeutics.

During his down time, Talukder enjoys reading, spending time with his dog, eating with family and friends, and setting up his telescope for astrophotography. He enjoys sharing his passions and is a member of the Brazos Valley Astronomy Club and Houston Astronomical Society.
