Roshan Dongre

University of Texas, Computer Science, Finance

Roshan Dongre is a local Houston native, and grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and worked at several firms during this time, including an internship at Millennium Management, a $35 billion dollar hedge fund located in NYC. Graduating in 2018 with degrees in Computer Science and Finance, Dongre decided to move to Chicago to trade government bonds at a high-frequency algorithmic trading firm.

In 2019, Dongre made a significant career shift and joined Susquehanna International Group, an options trading firm based in Philadelphia. During this time, personal events sparked a deep interest in healthcare, leading him to embark on a post-bac program at Bryn Mawr in Philadelphia. Here, Dongre completed all the premed courses in a streamlined setting.

Following his academic pursuits, Dongre moved to Austin, Texas to work as a Software Engineer at Amazon, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS). Eventually, Dongre’s passion for medicine and technology drew him back to Houston to attend EnMed. Outside of work, Dongre has a deep love for playing tennis and pickleball, and enjoys regular poker games with friends.

Dongre’s ultimate goal is to leverage his software engineering background to explore innovative solutions that can positively impact and improve the lives of patients.
